Anite blames NRM cliques for her troubles, Turns to God for rescue

Minister Evelyn Anite

State minister of Finance in charge of Investment and Privatization Evelyn Anite has accused sections of NRM leaders who she accused for  fueling her trouble.

Anite who is currently in the United States of America to pursue her Masters degrees at Tufts University noted that there are sections of people within her own party who has made it their habit to fight her and discrediting whatever she does.

Anite who also doubles as Koboko municipality member of parliament was responding to our question during a brief chat on social media.

She assured us that she will be back in the country as soon as she finishes her studies in two months time.

She however, added that ever since her 2014 Kyankwanzi resolution which endorsed president Museveni as a sole NRM candidate was passed, many of her colleagues within the ruling party have resorted to fighting her and some go extra mile by tarnishing her name before her boss president Yoweri Museveni.

"The same cliques are the one moving from one media house to another trying to discredit me. Some even hire people to spread falsehoods on me via social media." Anite said.

She added that she has been under constant threats and attacks from several people who don't wish her well. She also conformed having received various social media threats from mainly anonymous people.

Early this month, reports emerged in the media that Evelyn Anite was forced to resign her ministerial position after being implicated in UTL mismanagement scandal. The government later clarified that she was on official leave in the United States to attain further education.

While in US, she was met by protests from Ugandans living in United States challenging her integrity. The protesters want Tufts University to dismiss her from the Institution due to roles in age limit act.

They claims that her actions undermined the core principles of democracy and rule of law especially when she made damning remarks that the move to change the constitution was backed by the army.

When we asked her whether the same cliques of people are the one behind the demonstrations that rocked the University,  Anite had this to say, "there are many people who don't want me to succeed in life by God's grace I will continue going forward."
