Ms. Penny Boudreau a Nova Scotia mother who strangled 12-year-old daughter Karissa Boudreau has been granted four temporary escorted leaves over the next 12 months to attend church services. Penny strangled her child in order to save her relationship with her boyfriend. 

A written decision by the Parole Board of Canada dated June 28 said Penny Boudreau must be accompanied by two staff who will remain within "sight and sound" of her at all times.

Penny Boudreau was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the Jan. 27, 2008, death of Karissa Boudreau, after pleading guilty to second-degree murder for killing her only child. Boudreau confessed that she strangled her child with twine to save her relationship with boyfriend Vernon Macumber, who the Crown said had no role in the crime.

The Bridgewater woman, who is now in her 40s, reported her daughter missing on the night of a heavy snowstorm in January 2008, then held an emotional news conference where she made a tearful appeal for the public's help in finding the little girl. Under the terms of her original life sentence, she is only permitted to apply for full parole after 15 years. Her lawyers pleaded that harsh upbringing during her childhood impacted on her behavior as an adult. - End.

Some of these judges and members of the parole boards here and in the states seem to have emotional issues that prevent them from performing their duties. They should be accessed yearly for mental stability in order to keep their jobs and be held criminally responsible for decisions deemed to be negligent.

The only church service she should be at is her own funeral. Even then, the church would be justified at saying no.

Oh come on there are people who have been arrested for stealing food because they are hungry. Or they have been arrested for having pot. Here is a woman that took her childs life and she out to attend church???? I would have her in solitary confinement or the electric chair. What a lot of #$%$!! Whaaa whaaa!! My father beat us and even used various objects such as crowbars, ropes, etc. Hit us about the head too many times to count. Our mother would beat us until she saw blood and only then would stop. Am I serial killer NO, did I abuse my own children NO, do I want to commit murder NO!! People use any excuse to cover up their quilt. COWARDS..and now she can go to church?? Prisons have a church inside?? And she is not a security threat...seriously!! She killed a 12 yearold girl so she could be with her boyfriend. I'd say she is a very dangerous woman and if she were to meet a guy who had children, you can bet she would get rid of them too!! She is dangerous. If she can go to church, ever terrorist, criminal out there will now want to cry they want to go to church too!
