| Dear George, This week we've been celebrating the NHS's 70th birthday. We all know NHS staff work amazingly hard, and almost everyone you know will have used the NHS at some point, whether it be for a quick check up, having a baby, vaccinations, a life-changing operation, or end of life care. But it's under threat from the Tories, and we need to act to protect it.

Jeremy Hunt is now the longest serving health secretary ever - and his time in the role has been devastating.
Hunt has overseen worsening waiting times for people needing cancer care, hospital operations and emergency treatment. We've seen a winter crisis, the hideous problems with Junior Doctors contracts, and the first all-out strike by doctors. Theresa May, meanwhile, has officially backed the Naylor Report, which is feared will lead to the biggest sell-off of NHS property in history, and the NHS's privatisation is continuing apace. The NHS is crying out for better funding to deliver the services needed, but it won't happen under the Tories. Jeremy Corbyn has promised that under Labour 5% of the national income will go to the NHS - almost £2bn more than it has from the Conservatives. This is the future the NHS needs and deserves.
