Deputy President William Ruto has welcomed the decision by the Wiper Democratic Movement to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the achievement of the government's Big Four agenda.

Speaking on Sunday at a church service in Machakos County, DP Ruto lauded Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for rallying his party members in supporting the Jubilee government's agenda, saying the move was selfless.

"The decision by Wiper and their leaders led by Kalonzo Musyoka to join Jubilee is a very important decision. As the government and Jubilee Party, we welcome the partnership of all parties, most recently the Wiper party. We welcome them so that we can work together as leaders and focus our attention, energy and effort in ensuring we transform our country," said Ruto.

"Matters of roads, water, education, jobs, universal healthcare… Those are the issues that should now occupy us as leaders as we work together to ensure that our country is better than it is today."

On Saturday, Wiper's National Executive Council held a meeting at the party's headquarters in Karen, Nairobi, where they reportedly resolved to team up with the government.
