BOBI WINE IS TODAY'S HERO: SAM MUGUMYA IS NOW FORGOTTEN
In November last year, I wrote about Sam Mugumya, some people in comments below promised that they were making progress on helping to secure his release. To date, nothing. It's my opinion that all lives matter, while we campaign for Bobi Wine's release and fair trial in Court, Mugumya should also be considered for similar treatment. I went to secondary school with Sam, we went to Makerere University together. We were in different political camps, but the way he has been treated is inhuman and unacceptable by any standards.
Why hasn't FDC or other human rights organisations appealed to the international community to help Mugumya.
Before jumping on the Bobi bandwagon, tell the country what progress has been made on securing Mugumya's release.
People should be careful with politicians, when a problem strikes, they move on to secure their political interests.

SAM MUGUMYA: A VICTIM OF M7/KB POLITICS
I went to secondary school and later Makerere University with Sam Mugumya. At that time, nearly all students from Rukungiri were supporters of Reform Agenda and i think Rwakakamba Morrison was our chairman. I was put back into line and soon left.
Mugunya remained and fiercely believed in the party that later became FDC. He put his full royalty behind the party and defended KB on all occasions during brutal confrotations with Police.
When he was arrested in DR Congo on subversion allegations, his party tried abit to demand his release but went cold shortly after.
Mugumya would die trying to defend KB and many times escaped or faced Police brutality defending the same.
Ugandan intelligence claims he was involved in subversion. The Opposition claims he was kidnapped from his home and is being framed.
Either way, Mugumya remains incarcerated since October 2014. He has now written to DRC authorities asking to be tried to be killed so that he can be eternally free.
Ofcourse the Ugandan government has no interest in getting him out of jail.
But why has his party FDC and specifically his close ally KB not used his international connections to negotiate his release.
Something does not add up...I know Mugumya would put his own life on the line trying to defend KB. I dont think KB has done enough to secure Mugumya's release. Mugumya is a victim of circumstances. He has partly 'lost' his life and future because of Museveni and Besigye cat and mouse political games. I relate Mugumya to former AIGP of Police Andrew Felix Kaweesi who served the country and the regime but also became a victim of internal politics.
