Byanyima has Personal Grudges Against National Chairman Museveni
By Atuhairwe Robert
Oxfam Executive Director, Eng. Winnie Byanyima, basing on twitter, has called out National Chairman of NRM, President Yoweri Museveni, blaming him for defending security personnel involved in the arrest of several MPs and their supporters in Arua. The stories on the incident have been widely reported and it is understood that anybody with nothing to say will say something about the same, true or not, justified or not.
If anybody is justified to say anything on the incidents it is National Chairman Museveni because, on top of being an injured party after the attack on his convoy, it is his responsibility to address any matter in the country. It's why he is in the job as head-of-state; a job that comes with "undesirable" and thankless responsibilities such as enforcement of law and order. Nobody knows what happened more than Museveni does.
Whatever he says is as close to the truth as it can get. He neither has to justify nor approve; he states plain facts of events as they unfolded, while accounting to Ugandans. If she really wished to blame someone, Byanyima should equally question those who were rounded up why only they fell in the net. Are they the only MPs or only campaigners? Is Byanyima trying to say something of her involvement in "these things"?
The former legislator, who abandoned Ugandans long ago, is lopsided in her views with a history of personal grudges against the NRM National Chairman. She cannot be an objective voice on something that happened in a far-flung district of Uganda from across the frontiers.
Museveni, and a few others still serving under the NRM banner, has remained steadfast in the struggle of satisfying the ideals for which they fought under FRONASA and the Luweero jungles despite peripheral interference and provocation. Time has set apart the sheep from the goats.
