| Seahorses are fascinating, small creatures. Pygmy seahorses are even smaller—this one is about the size of a grain of rice! This beautiful, smile-inducing footage captured the "Japan pig" seahorse. Named both for its location and its face, which somewhat resembles a baby pig, researchers recently determined that it is a distinct species. The video shows the tiny animals swaying, eating, and blending in with their colorful environment. —Amy Rankin, associate producer | | |

| In preparation for the 150-year anniversary of the discovery of helium, we had joked that the voiceover for this video should be recorded with a helium-squeaky voice. It was not until late that I truly thought about the reality of it all. Although abundant in the universe, helium is a limited, non-renewable resource. So why do balloons remain such a staple of celebration? What else is helium used for? What happens when we run out? From how helium was first discovered in 1858 to what preservation efforts can be made today, learn the basics about this valuable resource. —Crystal Berg, associate producer | | |

| Like zombies? Like insects? You'll love this video. A scientist did research on a fungus called the "insect destroyer" and found that it has a terrifyingly deadly effect on fruit flies. Watch this video to find out how exactly this fungus steals the body and mind of a fruit fly. —Richie Hertzberg, associate producer | | |

| A no-kill dog shelter where over 1,000 dogs have plenty of space to roam free sounds like heaven for both stray dogs and dog lovers alike. Nestled in the mountains of Costa Rica, this canine oasis is run by a couple whose passion and love for animals run deep. This video shines a spotlight on their compassion—and a happy ending for their four-legged friends. —Becky Davis, producer | | |

| Cows are often sheepish and submissive. But if they feel like they are threatened or their offspring is in jeopardy, they will attack. Such is the case when a high-speed chase landed in a Florida cow pasture. The suspect ran through and triggered the cows into chasing her. The corralled did the corralling this time—right into the hands of law enforcement. —Richie Hertzberg, associate producer | | |
