Top FBI Lawyer Reveals ‘Abnormal’ Handling of Russia Probe into Trump Campaign

Republican Representatives Mark Meadows of North Carolina and Jim Jordan of Ohio revealed last week that previously unheard information may demolish the Mueller investigation.

Their report was in response to what Meadows called “explosive” closed-door testimony given by former top FBI lawyer, James Baker. Baker, who once worked closely with former FBI Director James Comey offered detailed information for congressional investigators that according to the Congressmen showed the Russia probe was handled in an “abnormal fashion” and reflected political bias.

As the FBI’s top lawyer, Baker led in securing Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants on Trump advisor Carter Page, along with three subsequent renewals.

According to Rep. Jordan, “During the time that the FBI was putting — that DOJ and FBI were putting together the FISA (surveillance warrant) during the time prior to the election — there was another source giving information directly to the FBI, which we found the source to be pretty explosive.”

Rep. Meadows backed up Jordan’s statement with the revelation that the “abnormal” handling of the probe into alleged coordination between the Trump presidential campaign and Russian officials “is a reflection of inherent bias that seems to be evident in certain circles.”

Jordan and Meadows could not elaborate on the identity of the source but expressed certainty that the information given concerning the FBI’s Russia case new to congressional investigators.

James Baker is at the epicenter of allegations of FBI abuse, and his deposition has been used to lay the foundation for a closed-door interview planned for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Rosenstein is expected to appear on Capitol Hill on Oct. 11 for what Republican House sources have described as an interview, rather than a briefing to leadership. The proposed meeting was called for after The New York Times that Rosenstein had discussed secretly recording President Trump hoping to have him removed from office using the 25th Amendment. The Rosenstein meeting has since been postponed due to speculation he might resign or be fired.

Baker’s deposition has unveiled proof of what President Trump and other conservatives have longed believed – the Russia/Trump collusion was manufactured by the FBI and others in the Obama administration.

John Solomon, of TheHill.com reports that Baker testified to meeting with at least one attorney of Perkins Coie, the private law firm of the Democratic National Party and Hillary Clinton in 2016 before the FBI began its cover investigation of Trump campaign associates.

Perkins Coie paid the research firm Fusion GPS to contract former British intelligence operative Christopher Steele to compile his dossier of uncorroborated raw intelligence that would be used to plant the idea that Trump and Moscow colluded to influence the presidential election.

Though unverified, the FBI then used Steele’s dossier as the main evidence for seeking a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant. The Bureau had good reason to suspect the connection between Coie, the DNC’s main law firm, and the Steele Dossier but ignored it and misled the FISA court in the process.

Solomon said, “This is a bombshell that unequivocally shows the real collusion was between the FBI and Donald Trump’s opposition — the DNC, Hillary and a Trump-hating British intel officer — to hijack the election, rather than some conspiracy between Putin and Trump.”

One source said Baker identified Michael Sussman, a former DOJ lawyer as the attorney at Perkins Coie who gave him a thumb drive and documents related to Russian hacking, interference in the election, and Trump/Russia connections.

House Freedom Caucus leader Mark Meadows told The Hill’s television show, Rising, there is credible evidence that FBI sources covertly record members of the Trump campaign. Meadows told hosts Krystal Ball and Ned Ryun, “There’s a strong suggestion that confidential human sources actually taped members within the Trump campaign.”

These most recent revelations illustrate the depth and scope of Deep State commitment to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president. Baker’s testimony last week also serves as a reminder of how much the DOJ and the FBI have withheld from the American people.

There is an ever-growing body of evidence that intelligence used by the FBI was mostly unverified and politically motivated to justify spying on the GOP campaign and Donald Trump just days before the election.

No wonder Representative Trey Gowdy (Rep-SC) and a number of voters have urged President Trump to declassify all documents concerning these matters. And no wonder, the FBI, Justice Department, and Democrats have sought to persuade the President to keep them secret.
