{UAH} Injustice Anywhere is Injustice Everywhere?

Yesterday I was shocked to see Syrian refugees begging for assistance in Uganda. I had gone to the National Mosque for Friday prayers and first saw two Syrian ladies seated with a baby, and later two young men, all holding placards with inscriptions in English stating that they were Syrian refugees who needed assistance. They were also seated amidst all the poor Ugandan beggars who congregate to the National Mosque for handouts every Friday.

Instead of listening to the prayer sermon, my mind kept thinking about these Syrian refugees. I thought of all the rich Arab countries that they probably passed on their journey from their country up to impoverished Uganda. I thought of all the advanced, rich, but miserly European countries that have deliberately put draconian measures against all refugees and now these people find themselves having to come to poor Africa where ordinary Africans are sharing with them the little that people here have, and which they were planning to share with the already large number of poor Ugandan beggars as they do every Friday here at the Uganda National Mosque.

What is wrong with these rich nations, some of whom are the very ones bombing Syria to rubble and causing these Syrian refugees now begging in Uganda?

I have been stating that even though we are not anywhere near these Middle Eastern conflicts, Africans might want to start using our globally recognized forums to not only make known our opinion on these deadly conflicts and seek a fair resolution to the wars, but also stand with oppressed people anywhere in the world as others have previously done in support of Africans since our struggles for independence. We cannot just proclaim that "An injustice somewhere is injustice everywhere", then barely express any concern about what is going on against peoples of desolate countries around the world.
