This old lady is probably a lifer- probably for murder- but I wonder whether Kenya has a policy for rehabilitating criminals who have committed very serious crimes? Sometimes it serves no purpose keeping them locked up forever, however much we hate the crimes they committed. It is not even a question of giving them a second chance, , it is just doing what is right. The only people who for whom life should mean life are those who have committed egregious and reprehensible crimes such as genocide, rape and murder of children, gang murder, but even these should get a death sentence and be hanged as life sentences are not appropriate for them..
