{UAH} Uganda is phenomenally riveting
A friend had landed here with a very innovative business idea. He
raises some fund and kick start a very promising business venture. He
recruits about 20 workers and trains them for six months of which 4
month were all workers were under strict monitoring, rigorous training
and two months he would relax supervision and let them these youthful
work run the business.
In the last two month he relaxes supervision on belief that he had
found a good manager among the twenty. The most trusted director,
turned around and started stealing from the business. As he perfects
his act he also rallies his colleagues who had discovered his
fraudulent ways and in flash conveniences them to turn against the
business owner. They join in the act of stealing.
The idea now matures to take over the business which by the way they
have almost run down and was due to close.
Through a perfect authority – the own launches an audit that discovers
eighty million (80 shs) Uganda shilling miss appropriated , stolen and
misused in a space of only two month. That is accompanied with sending
all the workers on an indefinite leave (dismissal).
The owner mourning his loss goes into action – to bring litigation
against these children.
As if nothing had happened, these workers continue calling the owner
asking to know when to come back and work unknowingly the fate that
awaits them.
The owner confides into me, that he had brought a case against all the
20 workers. Through his lawyers they had mooted a plan to have each
these workers go to prison for 15 years by bring a new case every
after completion the first case that carries maybe three year
imprisonment, paying back the money or both, the litigation process
will go on until each of them gets fifteen years!
Sense danger , the workers are up and down trying to reach the
business owner he appears to be confident of his act given the
electronic tracks and hand writing on received cash receipts from the
clients.
These are among the many cases I have seen and acted myself.
