{UAH} Democrats want Virginian Governor to sign over racist yearbook photo
Folks;
The Gov., Ralph Northam, has admitted that he was one of the two racists in the photo: a black-faced man, and another man clad in KKK outfit. He has not said which photo was him!
He's not the first racist to hold public office, especially from Virginia. And so, his bane is that he was fished out, out of a Yearbook from his days at Virginia Medical School.
Robert Byrd, the late senator from West Virginia, was a KKK member who, strenuously opposed the Civil Rights Bill of 1964, but had a change of heart decades later, and spoke forcefully against racism and segregation.
Like Byrd, Gov. Northam announced his statement of racism when he was told enough to appreciate the harm his outfit inflicted on black America. He'd hidden his past neatly in the closet, on the untenable belief that it would remain his little secret.
Republicans can afford to keep their racist at the White House; Democrats are better served by severing ties with the governor, despite his incomplete attempt at apology.
