{UAH} Poverty levels double, survey shows

True poverty is worse.

Ugandan's needs have radically changed beyond what agriculture can
provide: TV , telephone, Electricity, Motorcycle, Cocacola, Beer bills
yet incomes are static or gone down.

NRM government is adamant no basic wage.

The problem is that government has a fixed view of reality. The
climate has changed.

Right now there is starvation around East Africa. Government should
accept the fact that Uganda is agricultural were 80% of the population
survive. There is water all over this country however there are no
innovative strategy to utilize underground resource for example in
Busilo, Buruli, Busoga and other such areas i.e. building embankments
or micro dams .

Kigezi and Akole have cut down forests for banana plantations such a
terrible foolish agriculture practice.

Building silos and reintroduction of the receipt system will go a long
way to put money into people's pockets.

Farmers in the past two years have produce enormous amount of food.
Without a market forcing food price almost 3 folds down! Food
Processing is a good strategy for the 15% -30% populations in urban
centres but with low consumption the entire strategy is doomed. The
idea that Ministy of Trade builds distributions centres in ASia and
Middle East is dead on arrival

Moreover the four basic public service
a. Health Care
b. Education
c. Public Transport
d. Housing

are now firmly in private arms.

I have been to Mutukula twice to study what happens along this 230 km
stretch. But right from Kyengera where one can see small grocery
stores, up next in Masaka, there is no anywhere else one can see such
urban niceties.

Mutukula is as good as dead.

The dual system of rural and urban human settlement does not help matters.

The above goes hand in hand with the dysfunctional Local Governments
implying tax regimes are totally low to bolster local investment. In
essence there is basically no investment in local government
authorities.

This implies there are no sustained incomes for majority Uganda or job
creation in Local Governments. The building boom remains in Kampala
Metro

President Museveni has said Uganda has 400000 workers and with NRM
uni-dimensional development strategy Dams and Factories (who consumes
electricity and factory products) – I hope every one understand what
this means for the development of the country.
