{UAH} basket case nation ruled by intolerant goons

It is really sad that the NRM government has reduced Uganda to another basket case nation ruled by intolerant goons with a penchant for raiding the national coffers at will and brutally suppressing anyone foolhardy enough to complain.

I cannot believe that, after 33 years in office, the regime cannot perform the most trivial tasks like collecting garbage, sweeping or setting up lights on the streets of our urban centres, enforcing both rural and urban planning, protection of the environment, providing real employment for the ever growing population, demiltarizing politics and minimizing open corruption including barbaric land grabbing.

I cannot believe that 33 years on, we have people living with jigger infested feet and unable to have two square meals a day.

I cannot believe that 33 years on, we are still cutting down trees for firewood and charcoal because we don't have affordable electricity, yet the overpaid spin doctors talk of excess generation capacity!

I cannot believe that 33 years on, the biggest ambition for our youths is to emigrate as housemaids and security guards in the Middle East where the leaders were nothing more than ignorant goatherds 60 years ago.

I cannot believe that 33 years on, the only modernization of agriculture we can boast of is the 4-acre model that advocates for subsistence existence augmented by scavenging on carelessly discarded Rwenzori empty bottle irrigation.

I cannot believe that 33 years on, the peace ushered in by the bush war heroes to enable us sleep and snore in oblivion has turned into an unending nightmare where people are raped and killed on a weekly basis.

Mr. Museveni, you have become a disgraceful thorn in our flesh that needs immediate excising.
