{UAH} Best Private Universities Uganda

First of all, Private universities in Uganda are struggling to be ranked among the Best. Again, most are scrambling to attract learner's and due to this, are coming up with innovative ways to market themselves. Some times before, such university's bid to increase its student numbers is Islamic Universities. Second, this was to facilitate a portal through which the students will be able to acquire education from their homes online. With this project, students would have access to world-class education at their convenience.

Likewise, back in1922, the British colonial administration constructed Makerere Technical College to train civil servants. In 1970, Makerere became the first national university and was the only university in the country until 1988 when the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) was initiated. Hence, since Makerere University was a public university, it provided free education in the nation of Uganda.

However, in the late 1980s and early 1990s, increasing demand for higher education amidst declining budget allocations created room for private Universities. This is because there was a requirement of more institution to provide education. Hence, many private universities were established.

Uganda Higher Learning

As a result, private universities have grown faster all over the country from 1 to 34 and public universities from 1 to 11. Further, their growth can be described as one of the most dynamic in the initiation of higher education in Uganda. Even more, this growth can be attributed to a huge demand for higher education by a rapidly growing population.

Today, the number of private universities has gone up from one to twenty-two and these are both secularly and religious in nature. Hence, the choice between a public and private university for students is not based on the quality of education. Rather, it's based on some factors like inaccessibility of public universities.
