{UAH} TRANSITION FROM PLAYER TO COACH ~ Ugandans At Heart (UAH)

Have you followed the tortious transition of former terrace heroes Thierry Henry, Vincent Kompany and Frank Lampard to terrace coaches? In the case of Henry and Kompany at boyhood clubs Monaco and Anderlecht, and for Lampard, at the club he achieved his greatest success Chelsea? All these players are revered at their clubs and were/are now managers.

Thierry Henry went 9 games without a win and was sacked. Kompany and Lampard have now both gone 4 games without a win, despite great expectations from their ambitious clubs.

Is it always wise to bring back an old boy?. It is working now for Sheffield United, whose former captain Chris Wilder lifted them up from the wilderness of Division 3, and hauled them right up to the promised land of the Premiership, and with my own club Charlton FC whose old boy Lee Bowyer has also lifted the Club from the wilderness of Division 3 and shoved it into the First Division where we are battling to go back to the premiership where we belong, after an absence of almost 15 years.

Can Kompany and Lampard survive the old boy voodoo as most old boys have failed to repeat on-field success to off-field success? Remember that most club owners, especially Abramovich at Chelsea, are not patient these days. They tend to reach for the pistol at the slightest hint of danger.
