{UAH} IS M7 WEAK OR JUST A BENEVOLENT DICTATOR?
Friends,
I've never really worked out whether M7 is just weak, or a good and benevolent dictator:
1. He has brought back a lot of agitators- in - chiefs, such as Tinyefunza, Rwakasisi, late Kategeya, e.t.c, to serve in his government;
2. He has given jobs to the likes of Tamale Mirundi- who used to criticise him on air. He is working with Andrew Mwenda on several fronts;
3. Today, he has attended a Kusasiira concert where Ronald Mayinja sang ' bikomyewo ", but he respectfully defended his gov't, instead of threatening Mayinja;
4. He has recruited the likes of Beti Kamya from opposition into his government;
5. He is on good terms with the UPC leader, James Akena, such that his wife is even a minister in Museveni's govt;
6. He puts Kayihura in a military detention , later helps him to get bail, and we would probably never hear of his trial again till when he says so.
7.e.t.c.
All I know is that, in the world of dictators, this is viewed as being weak. For instance, King Wangchuck of Bhutan- created the Gross National Happiness scale, so his people would be content and remain loyal. Things didn't end well for him - sometimes it's not good to let a fox back into the hen's house. I would be furious if a party like FDC , accept someone like Beti Kamya or Hon. Maama Mabira, to rejoin them.
