Whoever is surprised by this news must be uninformed about Netanyahu in particular, and Israel in general.
In Trump, however, Bibi found a ready ear, because Trump is incapable of raising any questions that would require him to show that he knows something outside of what Netanyahu is telling him. Lucky for the both Trump and Bibi, US-Israeli relationship is not reliant on who the president of the US and the prime minister of Israel are.
Needless to say, all US administrations since the founding of Israel, knew that you trust the Jewish state at your peril. This administration will belatedly come to appreciate that as well.
