{UAH} Movie About Yazidis, Female Fighters Offer Look At Kurdish Plight
Frank Mujabi/ Alan Barigye/ Mike Ocaya pOcure,
-- Here is a movie that highlights the role communists from around the world have played in the Syrian conflict. You remember when the Yazidis first caught world attention. Thousands of young girls were captured by Isis and turned into sex slaves. Yet despite the world wide exposure, the world seemed reluctant to do anything to save the Yazidis.
So Enter the Female Communists from all around the world who volunteered to go to Syria to liberate the Yazidis. They formed their own brigade and entered the battle against Isis. By all accounts, they were formidable fighters and took the battle to Isis and liberated thousands of Yazidi girls and women.. Isis would never have been defeated without the contribution of the this international brigade.
This movie has made to record the efforts and sacrifices of these brave and courageous women. Of course in a movie of this kind, some of the actors will disagree about the precise role the women warriors played, but what is not in doubt is their contribution and how crucial it was to defeating Isis, and restoring a modicum of peace and security to the Yazidi areas.
