Entire Obamacare Law Could Be Struck Down Any Day Now...

Obamacare is back in the news. Here's why:  In Trump's 2017 tax bill, Congress repealed the individual mandate to buy insurance. This means there is no longer any penalty if you don't buy health insurance. But the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals may soon go further and strike down the whole law.  How is this possible? Well, in 2010, the courts found the individual mandate to be an integral component of the broader law. Now that the mandate is gone, critics of the ACA claim the rest of the law must be dissolved too.  A decision could come any day now as the federal appeals court must decide whether it will uphold a decision from a federal judge who found the entire law unconstitutional.  According to Yahoo, the average premium for an unsubsidized family of four buying the cheapest plan is still close to $1,100 a month – the equivalent of a mortgage payment in some areas. Worse, these plans have deductibles of $12,000 or more.  The bottom line: The Trump administration says Obamacare must be replaced because it remains unaffordable for too many Americans.
