{UAH} Former Aston Villa boss Ron Saunders passes away aged 87
Moses Nekyon/ WBK,
-- This great man Ron Saunders is probably the last of the truly great English managers to lead a genuine grass-roots club adored by its citizens when he led Aston Villa to the top of the mountain as champions of the then First Division in 1981. Since then, only Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal, genuine grass-roots clubs, have managed to win the title as increasingly the English league has been taken over by money bags who determine where the title should go., Apart from the late Graham Taylor, also at Aston Villa, no other English manager has got near to the top of the pile since Ron Saunders. Ironically, Saunders also managed the rival Birmingham teams Birmingham City and West Brom Albion. He is considered a hero of Birmingham and will be given a state funeral. The whole of Birmingham will stand up and salute their greatest citizen of all time.
