{UAH} ON THIS DAY 1971

On this day in 1971, my late father President Idi Amin Dada (waving to the mammoth crowd) spent his first day in office as the Military Head of State, and freed all political prisoners of the previous Milton Obote regime. Millions of Ugandans joined in celebration at the liberation ceremony. To this day he is generally considered by Ugandans as the most patriotic and incorruptible leader the country has ever had, and the only Ugandan leader who truly loved his country and its people.
