{UAH} Healthcare unfortunately can not be a "right".

Healthcare unfortunately cannot be a "right".

By Halima Kiberu

Now that Mulago has been fixed with new modern beds, people must pay for their treatment, and I support it. If you don't have money, go for cheaper health options.

A right cannot require someone else's schooling, skills, time, and livelihood. Instead what that is called is a commodity. Though not physical like water, gold, or food. It is not something naturally occurring that by mere existence you have a "right" to. Not that I want it to be that way. But a right cannot be given to you on the back of another. The word most of those are looking for is convenience; Not "right".

"Healthcare should be a convenience", Would be the correct statement you are championing for. You want someone else to spend years of their life to learn a specific and valuable skill. You want that person to then at a whim fix you and your problems when it is convenient to you. No matter if you being broken is based on injury, bad health habits, or bad luck you prefer the convenience of having your govt send them an I owe U in return, while having those around you "pay" for it.

There are no mental gymnastics you can play with your argument, for or against this issue that negates that fact. You want someone else to put in work at your convenience.
