{UAH} Working From Home: the experience so far

Folks;

I've entered the third week of working from home.

So far, I've learnt these things about myself, my family and my employer.

Myself - No surprise here; I still set daily goals and achieve (most of) them.  I still wake up and go to bed around the same time. I've also realized that I eat less throughout the day than I do when am at work. I've not gained or lost a single pound.

My family - I'll be the first to appreciate that I'm blessed with a wonderful family. My children - two sons, daughter and a nephew - have followed the social distancing protocol quite commendably. Each holes up in his or her room, doing their online studies, and generally come down to visit the kitchen!

But they managed to eavesdrop on an important video conference I held with the Minister of Commerce and Industry of an Asian nation last evening, where I was finalizing a plan for our CEO to visit that country to open our new production plant.

I think I got a lot of "husband and dad points" from my conference call because, right after the call, the children came down to ask some questions. They were pleasantly surprised to learn that their own dad could hold such a conference with a foreign government official!

Even my wife said that she'd all along thought that I only interfaced with city, state and government officials in US.(I'm home free for the year!)

My employer - My company saw this virus outbreak from early on, and immediately took containment and mitigation activities that including closing down three office campuses in US. And our CEO and his management team have kept employees informed on a regular basis, including holding conference chats with up to 500 employees at a time.

I still believe that the best defense against this virus is to protect yourself by following the protocols that have been issued by authorities: social distance, washing hands, and sanitizing common areas.

Good luck and be safe.

Pojim
