MAN COMMITS SUICIDE BECAUSE HE COULDN'T AFFORD BUYING SALT FOR HIS FAMILY

Michael Omwamani, a 30 year old resident of Kabale district was found hanging on a rope in his sitting room, says the Kigezi police spokesperson Elly Matte.

Matte explains that before he committed suicide, the wife asked him for salt while preparing food and that was the beginning of the sad story. The deceased started threatening to kill himself as he did not have any penny to buy salt.

The wife then went out to buy salt, on coming back he saw a picture of his husband with the face crossed out. The deceased was no where to be seen. The body was found in the sitting room hanging from a rope.

Further investigations are being carried into the case says the police spokesperson of Kigezi. We can only pray for his soul to rest in peace. This is a very horrible act and not being able to provide for your family doesn't mean one should take their life, the situation becomes worse when the provider is gone.

This covid 19 pandemic has caused a lot of harm, much as Uganda has not registered any deaths resulting from the disease, many people have lost their lives as a result of the measures put down. These measures are very necessary for our survival and can't be avoided but we still urge the government to provide food to the un able people otherwise we shall loose many of our people in such cases.
