{UAH} From A Huntsman To A Motivational Speaker

When you hear about the word "Dreamchaser", the story of Mr. Robert Mwesige is the definitive description of what it means to chase your dream and eventually achieve it; here is the story of the leading motivational speaker in the country.

A man, who was once a bush hunter in his village some years back, is now a celebrated figure in Kampala and other various parts of the country regardless of his humble family background.

Robert Mwesige is now an entrepreneur, management consultant, at Houston Executive Consulting and a Certified Google Digital Marketer at Geotech ICT Consulting mostly known for his motivational speaking career.

Through his mother's casual work, he managed to get the necessary education qualifications that he relies on for his progress today.

People's perception and appreciation of his work through his speeches, zeal, honesty, overall performance and having people believing in his achievements in relevance to what he says, has progressed him.

He says that the pursuit of motivational speaking in Uganda is fine as long as one is following the principles of development planning instead of depending on Google generated speeches but rather something that impacts on people's struggle.

He adds on to say that his strategy is through speaking to his audience about; how it is possible for them to start their own businesses and make profits, keep walking in their lanes by focusing on their passion, and knowing their dreams.

Have a Personal Development Plan

He achieves all these through drawing a personal development plan, and by this, he insists that even if someone attends a thousand motivational speaking sessions, they won't change without the principles of personal development planning.

As a motivational speaker, he urges every person in the world and Ugandans, in particular, to set goals in life based on their area of interest.

In his words, he achieves all his goals through; Specialization, Being practical by drawing a personal development plan as a Strategy and having a mentor in everything he does.

Mr. Mwesige says that his mentor is Mr.Douglas Opio, Executive Director at the Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) from whom he learned the concept of introducing routines. He also gets very good lessons from his career advisor, Mr. Sande Protazio.

"Routines are those things that you have to do or keep doing in order for you, to achieve a goal or goals." – Robert Mwesige.

"My dream is to become the most known search results consultant in Africa, and help those people with humble backgrounds to believe in themselves and build personal development plans," he added.

And he works on his dream by making it a must to write and publish an article every week which he claims; it's one of the routines he is talking about.

He entirely asserts that dreams are not just landed on, but there must be certain things to attend to on a daily basis to achieve these dreams based on routines.

Keep learning More New Things

Furthermore, he emphasizes the act of learning and development in these routines because if not, he says one may end up failing to maintain success as it has been witnessed on various occasions.

In his career, Mr. Mwesige has witnessed one major challenge of poor Ugandan culture as far as motivational speaking is concerned whereby people embrace comedy, music, and other entertainment gigs and do away with educative ones because they take them to be of valueless.

However, he thinks that this challenge can still be overcome by professionalizing motivational speaking as a career and make motivational speakers do their job with passion and set standards for the public to value their services.

"I have written a training program on public speaking and presentation skills which will be out early 2020, and also done a course in public speaking which is the core of motivational practice using the public speaking flow chart as a way of professionalizing and promoting motivational speaking," said Mwesige.

However, Mwesige urges motivational speakers to make it a must deliver value to their audience first and have an impact but not presenting scams in order to attract a big following if they want to be highly valued.

Mwesige's wish regarding his career is to at least see people who are successful in every society coming up to sensitize, motivate and share knowledge with everyone on how best they can also make it out in life.

"Every December, we had an old man who would gather students in our village and motivate us that we can succeed academically no matter the situation. And it was through those gatherings that I got a chance to associate with students from good schools and even share their notes that later earned me a government scholarship at the university."

"And now every December, I am committed to doing the same because I am a product of motivational speaking from one ordinary man. I tell youth in my village that it's possible for them to become whatever they have heard of in life regardless of their family status and I always use myself as an example," he said.

I hope that our wonderful readers have picked a leaf from this amazing story of Mr. Robert Mwesige. Follow your heart and stick to the plans you have to accomplish your dreams.
