Lumolo fronts daughter Aisha Nabulo for Sironko seat, decline support for hon Ishma for Industrial city division.

Sironko District National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson and Mbale city tycoon Suleiman Lumolo has clashed with his son the Eastern Youth mp Ishma Mafabi Lumolo after refusing him to contest for industrial city mp seat in coming general elections.

Speaking before a sizable crowd of NRM supporters of Sironko at his country home in senior quarters Mbale city on Sunday, July 05, 2020, the tycoon surprised very many people when he declined to support his son Hon. Ishma's ambitions to contest as MP for industrial city division.

Lumolo implored electorates of Sironko and those residing in Mbale city but vote from Sironko to stick to the NRM party, and support his Daughter Asha Nabulo Lumoro who he said that she has better ideas for developing Sironko.

Lumolo has fronted his daughter Asha Nabulo who will be fighting for NRM party flag with hon Florence Nambozo the current Sironko woman member of parliament and others.

Lumolo's decision to front his daughter for Sironko seat and declined to support Hon. Mafabi's candidature has sparked off disagreement between father and the son.

According to the well placed family members did not want to mention in the story revealed to the Bugisu intellectual forum that Hon. Ishma has held several meetings in attempt to convince his father for support but all in vain.
"Several meeting have been held between the two, but Lumolo says that he supported his son during the eastern youth parliamentary seat but he became disgrace and he has not performed to his expectations," source said.

Bugisu intellectual forum approached tycoon Lumolo at his home in senior quarters in an exclusive interview and confirmed that his support will be given to the daughter Asha Nabulo to contest for seat of Sironko woman member of parliament.

''Hon. Mafabi Ishma is above eighteen and can take his decision to contest for Industrial city division mp seat but my support will be given to my daughter for Sironko seat,'' Lumoro said.

''For now i am supporting my daughter Nabulo as parent and when she picks the NRM party ticket I will again support her as district NRM party chairperson, '' he said.

"There is absolutely no harm in me choosing my daughter to contest for Sironko seat and refuse to support Mafabi because he is now old enough to fight for himself" Lumoro said.

Asha Nabulo Lumolo has been managing family businesses as managing director and holds degree in business administration and master's degree in international business relations.
"I am not fighting my son Mafabi but he should account for his five years he has been in parliament. I can see better leader and ministerial material in Nabulo," He said.

Lumolo is now heavily investing in Sironko, he has built what you would call "people power" in the right way. He has invested in young people, he has contributed to churches, and he has given young people scholarships, doing everything a leader can do to convince electorates on behalf of the daughter.

Nabulo Aisha Lumolo said that for now, the father wants her to do her best to make sure that whatever did not go well in brother's time, can be it corrected, work with others and look for different ways and call for different strategies, different ways of doing things.

''I don't want to use the word fail, but there are gaps in service delivery, there are gaps in communication with the people of Sironko" Nabulo said.

''There are gaps in linking people to government services – that is where I come in. My task is to find answers, advocate for change, and look for opportunities for young people, women and the elderly'' she added.
Nabulo says she would want to encourage excellence in schools because she want schools in Sironko to be top-class, adding that there is need for parent involvement and good teachers.

''Those are the things I want to focus on because I have the time, the energy and the dedication that my current MP does not. I am committed to making sure that we fill those gaps and help our people do better'' Nabulo said.

''We are not in this to divide, to blame, to point fingers, to talk about the high and mighty or those who have done all kinds of things. But we want to work with other people and we can achieve.'' She said.

Every Ugandan has a right [to stand for election], there is no need to stick to the idea that this is a monarchy, this is a democracy.

However our efforts and repeated calls to get in touch with Eastern Youth Member of Parliament Hon. Ishma Mafabi Lumolo did not yield fruits as our calls went unanswered for the comment.
