{UAH} Prof Nawangwe for accepting a building on Kampala Road, worth Shs8 billion
If a building is valued 8 billion by a government valuer, the market rate
from my own experience in Kampala, will almost be double or more!
Before Centenary Bank was built - that plot was valued at 1 billion Uganda
shilling and no one was buying. I can't guess the price today.
One time I suggested to KCCA management to gazette Kampala Road
as High Street with designated types of businesses. Among these will
be Banks, Insurance firms, Law Firms, Merchants etc.
In return to placing a business here - a special fee will be incurred and
then become an automatic financial district generating higher returns
for the city.
