{UAH} What does this mean? I dont understand

The US opinion polls in the 2016 presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were actually nearly accurate until FBI director James Comey  declaration of "Found e-mails," which turned out to be false.  Even with that FBI misinformation, Hillary Clinton got more actual votes, the popular votes more than Donald Trump, meaning there were more voters for Hillary even if there were few to no posters. Trump won by College allocation!

Will it be the same with Uganda? Opinion polls are useless in dictatorial governments right from biased and lack of transparency in collection of opinions  to manipulation of the data to help the regime in power. There's also the issue of institutions. US is a democracy with functional institutions while Uganda is a dictatorship with non or weak institutions that are manipulated by the regime. Imagine even with declared "Scientific elections," Opposition candidates are denied to present their views on radios while the sitting candidate is accorded all support and facilitation.

In my opinion, without a slight leveling of the political play field, the major Opposition parties can only cause an impact  if they refuse to participate in the sham election exercise. Elections will still take place since there candidates who will be independent and some from small parties but the major Opposition parties should boycott to send the message. Unfortunately, by some miracle, the divided opposition still think they can win in such a hostile environment.

The very American politics based on opinion makers than the Americans that vote. 2016 I was working mainly in United States and every sign I was looking at was for Donald J Trump, the opinion makers in this very forum educated me how Trump has no path to 270. It was a miracle seeing a Hillary poster in the then America, even in Blue states, the Edward Pojim's wakako were preaching the blue wall that God casted with his own bare hands, that will never be cracked. And they turned around and called me stupid too for I was posting what I would never back up. The opinion makers have already decided both elections, Uganda is going to be won by Dr Kiiza Besigye and United States by Joe Biden.

 

Why even bother campaigning when the elections are over, thanks to the opinion makers and reporters that activists.

I am in Fort Portal City and I can hardly find a poster of an opposition political party. The city is as yellow as the sunflower. There is no drop of NUP, FDC, UPC, DP, name it all.
This illusion that the whole country is tired of Museveni and NRM is burst when one arrives in Fort Portal.
The worst mistake of the opposition in Uganda is to always underrate Museveni. Once you underrate your enemy, they will always surprise you...
When I am in Kampala and on social media, I feel like NRM has already fallen. The moment I get outside Kampala, I am always proven wrong....
