{UAH} Bobi wine challenges EC to release President Museveni’s academic documents

National Unity Platform Principle and presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has delegated the Electoral Commission and the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) to show some urgency to the matter of releasing President Museveni's academic documents as they did in an instant when City lawyer Mabirizi asked for his.

Kyagulanyi states that the Electoral Commission and Uganda National Examination Board should settle the query encircling Museveni's academic qualifications.

"Lawyer Mabirizi wrote to the EC requesting for my academic qualifications and these were released immediately but why is it taking forever to release those of Museveni, " He said.

It should be noted that NUP's Nkunyinji Muwada a lawyer who wants to replace the Kyadondo East legislator in the same constituency, wrote to the EC after Mabirizi had been availed with Kyagulanyi's documents. However, this time demanding for President Museveni's academic documents that he used in 2016 a request the  Electoral Commission has not responded yet.

While speaking to journalists on Monday, Kyagulanyi said, "If the EC and UNEB claim to be independent, let them use that same urgency and release President Museveni's academic documents to the lawyers who asked for them."

"I am aware that several lawyers have written to the Electoral Commission regarding the academic papers of President Museveni, his wife, and several NRM ministers. You've already taken a much longer time to respond to their request than the time you took to release my academic papers," Kyagulanyi hinted.

Kyagulanyi challenged the Electoral Commission to release these academic documents with the same urgency since the body claim to be acting independently and with in the law.

It should be noted that President Museveni came out on several occasions to hint that he is not sure of the exact year he was born. However, he settled for 1944 as his date of birth.

In regard to citizens, Kyagulanyi said that Ugandans want to be in the now if indeed, President Museveni has the academic qualifications he claims to have.

"They want to be sure, that he was born at the time he claims to have been born," Kyagulanyi said.
