{UAH} NRM Primaries: 10,000 Missed Registrations in Gulu

These are members above the age of eighteen but their names are not in the yellow book on making them unable to vote during the party primaries.

James Ocen, the Gulu District NRM Chairman told our reporter in an interview that out of over 38,000 members of the party, only 28,000 registered to vote.

Ocen who could not disclose why the 10,000 members failed to register, revealed that they can still be allowed to register to vote provided they are vetted by party leaders in the respective villages.

George Ebola, the Gulu District NRM Registrar rereleased that those who failed to register but would wish to vote shall be allowed to register and to vote provided they go early at the polling station with their National Identity Cards.

Ebola warned that those who shall go late to the polling stations shall not be allowed to register and shall not vote.

He also warns the voters against violating the Standards Operating Procedures put in place to avoid the spread of COVID -19 and that those who shall not wear face masks shall not be allowed to vote.

While speaking to journalists from Northern Uganda Media Club, Richard Toodwong, the NRM deputy Secretary-General said most of the party members who missed the registration are students who were in schools and other learning institutions during the update of the party voters' register.
