George Floyd would still be dead if Joe Biden were president

Did you know that if only Joe Biden were president back in May that the sainted George Floyd would still be alive today?

That's what Biden's Democratic running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, proclaimed at Wednesday's vice presidential debate when she said Floyd "would still be alive today" because she and Biden support a ban on police chokeholds and physical apprehensions that put force near a subject's carotid artery. (This more or less permits police to confront hostile suspects with a whistle and a little gun that fires off a flag that says "BANG.") Harris made this claim with a straight face even though basically no one was talking about banning police chokeholds until after Floyd's death.

Despite the early media narrative, enthusiastically embraced by Democrats, about Floyd, there is no proof he died because he was in a "chokehold" (he wasn't in one), nor that he died because a police officer was pressing on his neck.

The evidence, to date, is that Floyd was in physical distress from the moment an officer approached him to ask about a counterfeit bill Floyd had allegedly used to buy cigarettes. His condition was apparently exacerbated by potent levels of methamphetamine and fentanyl in his system (as reported by the official autopsy), as demonstrated by Floyd repeatedly telling police that he was unable to breathe, well before things had escalated to the point where Floyd, on his own, ended up on the ground.

The drugs, plus his documented heart problems, look to have been more than likely the cause of his heart attack. His corroded cardiac health is acknowledged in the initial medical exam.

True, Floyd may still be alive today had he never had a run-in with Minneapolis police. But put another way, he might be alive had he never tried to scam a convenience store with a fraudulent $20 bill, as he's suspected of doing. Whether police respond to a crime isn't determined by looking at a suspect's likelihood of having drugs in his system or how healthy his heart is.

Kamala Harris is feeding a lie. It's the same lie Democrats have been feeding for months, which serves to excuse or even outright embolden the rioting, looting, vandalism, and arson we've seen for the last 16 weeks.

It's up to voters to see through it.
