I am taking this opportunity to do the toughest job ever done by any Moderator, to say good bye as the Yahoo light gets out. It is a situation all Moderators have no control over, but due to the decision from those up above all Yahoo forums will become none existent beginning December the 15^th. We have started to lose control on some sections of the forums, and we have been notified that 15^th December is the death day of all Yahoo forums, thus it is important to post this wide so that if you missed it in the Yahoo forum you pick it up from other forums.

 

I take this special moment to thank all members of Ugandacom, we started this forum on August the 10^th 2001, and it was started as a back up then of Mr. Kiggundu’s practice of moderating every thing that was posted and considered anti Movement, we hated the habit of Ugandanet shutting down whenever the Movement did anything wrong or murdered anyone.  The forum protected free speech and lived passed the death of Ugandanet that happened only a couple of years letter. As I structured out the description of the forum way back on the 10^th of August 2001 “For the sake of never holding information from any one and anybody. We are running a discussion list for everyone.”  We are shutting down the forum without a single member being Moderated. We were notified that from December 15^th  we will not be able to post or read, and all content of the forums will be deleted. Ugandacom is still posting, but we know that ability is going to disappear at any moment due to the expansion of social media.

 

Take this time to reorganize your work we have saved on our platform, transfer it to other progressive social medias as we move forward, for after the shutdown we will not have any way to retrieve it. Again I take the moment of thanking you for being part of the Ugandacom family. It has truly been an accumulation of some 19 years of great fun that we all have relished. Thank you for allowing us to do this with such a success. A successful forum is a forum where a moderator is not an in your face, very few out there actually knew that I even moderated and owned that forum, that is how it always must be.
