{UAH} Why City Pastors Have Condemned Fallen Colleague Yiga But Are Inching Closer To His Son Jjengo

A section of city pastors have condemned deceased controversial colleague Augustine Yiga Abizaayo for preaching an alleged false doctrine.
But most of these pastors say they are ready to groom Yiga's son Andrew Jjengo – provided he is willing to abandon his father's suspicious path.
Pastor Jjengo has in recent years played acting pastor, especially during times when his father would be out of the country.
Since his father's death on October 27, Jjengo has fully taken charge of Revival Church, Kawaala, and ABS TV, for which Yiga was proprietor.
Although some pastors are condemning Yiga, they seem to be extending an olive branch to his son.
For pastors like Jackson Senyonga of Christian Life Church, Makerere-Kavule, Yiga was a fake pastor who hoodwinked several of his followers.
Hours after Yiga's death, Senyonga invited reporters to tell them how sinful a man the fallen pastor was.
He told them Yiga had for years failed to embrace the salvation of Jesus Christ and walk in the light of God.
"We cannot be happy that he has died before confessing to God and getting saved. For the time he has spent bedridden, I want to hope that he used that opportunity to turn to Jesus," he said.
"Yiga was not a true born again pastor but was a conman. Therefore, I cannot call him a pastor because everything he was doing was contrary to the Bible. He was faking miracles and in so doing Yiga has infected a lot of young girls in his church with HIV."
Senyonga added that he was sorry for the trouble Yiga took unsuspecting and desperate believers through.
"For that matter, on behalf of the born again fraternity, I want to apologize to whoever Yiga hurt."
His church also pledged "to help those women with children whose father is Mr Yiga."
ENTER PASTOR BUGEMBE

For Worship House pastor and gospel sing Wilson Bugembe, one doesn't have to agree with someone to wish them good life.
Hours before Yiga breathed his last, Bugembe had planned to visit him at Nsambya Hospital.
"[On October 26, I spoke to his son [Jjengo] on the phone at about midnight. I told his son 'I may disagree or debate with some of your dad's teachings but wish him life," he revealed.
"I asked his son if he could allow me to visit him and pray with him privately without cameras. He agreed but a few minutes later, he called back and said, 'Musumba, Mzee has passed."
Like Ssenyonga, Bugembe believes Yiga was not 'properly born again." His prayer is that the controversial pastor used his last minutes of life in a conversation with God.
"God is merciful when we repent," Bugembe added.
The youthful pastor believes that "even if we speak in tongues of angels but without love we are like an empty tin."
BUJJINGO

And while Senyonga has openly labelled Yiga a fake pastor, Aloysius Bujjingo of House of Prayer Ministries has told mourners he had no problem with the deceased 'man of God.'
During a requiem service in Kawaala on October 28, Pastor Bujjingo talked of his friendship with Yiga dating as far as their youthful years, including as competitors in board games.
He revealed he had last met Yiga two months ago.
"I have gotten an opportunity to interact with Pastor Yiga several times and we had never quarreled. He normally called me whenever he was stuck," Bujjingo said.
PASTOR ANDREW JJENGO IN SAFE HANDS?

With Yiga gone, pastors – those who condemned Yiga in life and death, and those who seemed to have been his friends alike – say they are ready to groom Jjengo into a better servant of God.
"If Mr Yiga's son Jjengo comes here at Christian Life Church and says, 'Pastor, my father has been walking on the wrong path but I want to walk in the right path, Jjengo is welcome here," Senyonga said.
"I will teach him the true gospel; we shall help him, even his church will grow because God will bless him if he can come back to truth."
Unlike Senyonga, Bujjingo already calls Jjengo his spiritual son.
"I see you as my son and if u need any support or comfort when you feel attacked, we are all not dead: come to me for it," Bujjingo told Yiga's son.
