{UAH} MUSEVENI: Sabiti Can Go and Rear Goats, Police Had Died

President Museveni has broken silence on his week's security reshuffle where he replaced commander of Special Forces Command and the deputy Inspector General of police.

Deputy IGP Maj Gen Sabiti Muzeyi was replaced by battle hardened Maj Gen Paul Lokech while Special Forces commander Maj Gen James Birungi was replaced by first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The president while speaking to NRM leaders on Friday at Bujuni Primary School grounds in Kibaale town council as he started his campaigns in Bunyoro sub-region said he was not happy with the way police was handling matters.

"Police had died. They had got some weevils and I made some changes. For the Police, I have told them I won't tolerate this nonsense anymore. Anyone who can't defend the people should go home and rear goats," he said.

This followed after the Kakumiro Woman MP, Robinah Nabbanja complained to the president that cattle were being stolen in the area.

In his response, Museveni blamed the police for not doing their job well.

The president in a radio message announcing the reshuffles expressed displeasure at the way the protests were handled by police saying that police officers who don't want to defend Ugandans and their properties should leave the force.

The commander in chief then thanked the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces for swatting the properly planned insurrection that had spread countrywide with foreign and regional backers.
