The former FDC chairman the late Sam Kalegga Njuba who was the area mp for kyadondo East constituency after the sham Elections of 2006 wanted to resign as the mp for kyadondo East in order to cause a by Election that will see president kizza Besigye contesting as the area mp.

Sam Njuba kalega requested president kizza Besigye to contest as the area mp for kyadondo East, with an intention of leading parliament as the leader of opposition. Since FDC had more mps than any political party.

President kizza Besigye vigorously rejected the request amidst the many requests from our leaders saying he is not in the struggle for positions.
