{UAH} IDI AMIN HISTORY: MALCOLM X AVENUE
From "Borup Avenue" (after Kristen Eskildsen Borup, a colonial British Empire official), this street in Uganda (picture attached) was renamed Malcom X Avenue in remembrance of the struggle and ultimate sacrifice made by the African American legend Malcolm X, for his fight to achieve racial justice, equality and civil rights for African Americans, and his strife for their political and economic reunion with the people of Africa.
Malcolm X was reportedly murdered by agents of the US government on February 21st, 1965, aged just 39.
The historic renaming of a Ugandan avenue from a colonial British Empire official (left), to a great American civil rights leader fighting for justice and freedom (right), was signed in a January 1973 presidential decree by His Excellency Panafricanist leader Field Marshal Idi Amin Dada. Conqueror of the British Empire.
