Thieves foiled in Parisian heist to steal 217-carat diamond necklace of Egyptian queen

Police say they have foiled a plan to steal a 217-carat diamond necklace made in 1939 for the Queen of Egypt which is being exhibited in Paris.
Three men have been arrested on suspicion of preparing to use explosives to blow up the glass case containing the necklace at the Museum of Natural History in the French capital.
Queen Nazli's necklace is among 550 items made by Van Cleef & Arpels, the French jeweller, that are on show at the museum.
Queen Nazli ordered the necklace for the marriage of her daughter to the shah of Iran in 1939
Police told Le Parisien that the men had been arrested on July 12 after going to a forest near Paris to practise using the explosives.
