The game between Canada and Sweden has all along been scheduled to take place at 11am local time {10pm Toronto time}. Since the scheduling of this game, the Swedish team has complained continuously about the timing of the game, for at 11 local, the temperatures are too high in Tokyo. If the game takes place at 11am as scheduled, the temperatures in Tokyo are expected to be at about 31 degrees Celsius and it can go as up as 40 due to the humidity. We have watched temperatures in Tokyo in past few days going as up as 45 degrees Celsius. 

 

Thus the IOC has made the following changes with immediate effect, the game between Canada and the firkin Swede, is  not going to take place at 11am local {10pm Toronto time} it has now been moved to 9pm local {8am Toronto time}. Also the game has been moved from the Tokyo stadium to the Yokohama stadium. And if you have been in Japan it is not that far, about just under 40Kms. There is a serious temperature issue in Japan currently, thus apart from their running from the very inevitable, the complaint of the Swedish can be understandable. Just to be very clear, these changes do not affect the resolve, our girls are going to play at any time we are offered, and in any city we are allowed to play in, and the end of this game remains the same as well.
