SHOULD YOU TAKE ON A HUSBAND'S NAME UPON MARRIAGE:

1. It depends on your preference as a person. However, the law cannot force a woman to "take on" her Husband's name. If a Wife wants to retain her name, then there's no law in Uganda which can force her to act otherwise.

2. In fact, in some Countries, the Husband ends up taking on the Wife's name upon marriage.

3. If a woman takes on a man's name, then even after Divorce, the Woman can, if she so wishes, continue using the Husband's name.

For example the former VP Kazibwe kept her ex-husband's name even after they parted ways.
