{UAH} F. W. DEKLERK: FORCED BY THE WORLD TO END HIS BRUTAL RACIST REGIME IN AFRICA!

As many in Africa seek to unearth the true disturbing legacy of South Africa's last racist leader F. W. DeKlerk from being whitewashed, the debate about him being credited for ending apartheid is back on the table. Being a student overseas at the time when Deklerk ruled South Africa with a tyrranical iron fist against the indeginous black people of South Africa, I remember that in 1985, a time in African liberation history when Deklerk was at his most brutal, reggae superstar Alpha Blondie sang a global hit song calling on America to "Break the neck of this Apartheid". There was no country on the planet where people were not repeating these compelling words as they danced to the song. The following year, 1986, US President Ronald Reagan travelled to Berlin, Germany where he then also famously asked Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to "Tear down this wall". By 1989 the Berlin wall was crumbling. The following year, 1990, Apartheid was over!
Today F.W. DeKlerk is credited for ending Apartheid, and even got a Nobel peace price, while Ronald Reagan's Berlin speech is credited for bringing down the Berlin wall. Meanwhile, among those who, including my father President Idi Amin, were relentless in mobilizing Africa and the world against Apartheid, Cote D'Ivoire's Alpha Blondie and his major global hit song, is nowhere even mentioned in white history as one who ultimately tipped the global geopolitical and public opinion balance against Apartheid, getting Nelson Mandela freed in the process, and crushing F. W. DeKlerks heinous Apartheid regime in Africa.
