SOME BRIEF FACTS ABOUT CUSTOMARY MARRIAGES:

Did you know that under Ugandan law;

1. Traditional (Customary) marriages are potentially polygamous, which means the man can marry another wife traditionally.

2. A Divorce for Traditional marriage is carried out according to the customs where the marriage took place.

3. After a Traditional marriage, a person can also proceed to have a Church wedding with the same wife from the Traditional marriage, but after the Church wedding, a person cannot marry another wife until the first marriage comes to an end.
