La rumba congolaise est très populaire au Congo RDC depuis les années 50. Venue de Cuba, elle a été adoptée par les congolais qui en ont fait leur propre version.

Tister Ikomo, professeur de danses traditionnelles congolaises à l'académie de Muziekpublique, vous invite à un atelier de découverte de cette rumba. C'est une danse de couple assez simple mais les variations et les chorégraphies qui l'enrichissent la rendent particulièrement intéressante. Vous pouvez venir en couple mais également individuellement.

Tister Ikomo est danseur, chorégraphe et musicien/percussionniste originaire de Kinshasa. Il a travaillé dans beaucoup de projets comme 'Coup Fatal' de KVS/les ballets C de la B et récemment avec 'Rumba Lumumba' à Bozar. Congolese rumba has been very popular in Congo DRC since the 1950s. Coming from Cuba, it was adopted by the Congolese who made their own version of it.

Tister Ikomo, teacher of traditional Congolese dances at the Muziekpublique academy, invites you to a workshop to discover this rumba. It's a fairly simple couple dance, but the variations and the choreographies that enrich it make it particularly interesting. You can come as a couple but also individually.

Tister Ikomo is a dancer, choreographer and musician / percussionist from Kinshasa. He has worked in many projects like 'Coup Fatal' by KVS / les ballets C de la B and recently with 'Rumba Lumumba' in Bozar.
