When you oppose a political entity you target its venerability, Museveni has been in DRC long, and all these rapes have been kept private that long. Don’t you wonder why Bobbie Winnie, don’t you wonder why the entire FDC as a political party failed to raise them? And if not for political advantage for firkin human decency. Don’t you wonder why the entire Uganda press failed to raise it? So year after year women have been raped this badly and we can only know about it by a New Delhi reporter. How does that sit with you? What is the value of UAH if such reports are never posted?

 

This is happening in DRC in a region Museveni controls and we cannot talk about it. We seal it and it does not even pass into UAH. Museveni has an opposition but it is tough to even pick up for it is built on only one word, Museveni is a corrupt man, no details no meat what so ever, how did all of you forget this? Your sons and daughters walked into DRC fought a war for years and you never knew women are getting raped? Annett how the hell did you miss all this? How did you fail to post it in this forum so that we all pick up on it?

 

This would have made a very good sell to my MP yet you decided to sit on it.

 

You know this is not the first time Ugandans have protected Museveni, way back in the days I used to follow UNAA conventions, Acholi population tried to use the conventions to raise the camps in Northern Uganda. Camps were running, people were being raped, deaths were rampant, Acholi were living like abandoned Pigs in a firkin slaughter house, and as I have stated every day I visited the camps and I firkin puked. What an advantage if we get the Uganda government present in the Convention, to raise the issue of the living conditions of the camps at international level !!!! Good idea. Acholi walk to the convention organizers and ask for time to raise the camps of Northern Uganda. It became a fight between Acholi and the organizers, by the way at the time Dr Muniini Mulera was one of the organizers, just for the record. Through push and pull the organizers in some Conventions agreed to put the camps on the Convention agenda. The item was listed on the Convention agenda. As the Convention ran its way, that item just got jumped off the agenda and the camps fail to be raised.

 

For the record, in all UNAA conventions that were carried at the time of the Acholi camps, the item of camping fellow Ugandans in Acholi camps never ever came to the floor of UNAA Convention to be discussed. Not a single firkin Convention. Kindly allow that to sink in, on how tens of thousands of Ugandans get camped for years, and a Convention that sits every year, fail to offer a firkin five minutes to their lives, then turn around and accuse me of being a firkin racist against the Acholi population. To you that is not racist to them, what did you do to raise their demise? How many times did you visit their camps and what did you see sir? Women get massively raped in a region Museveni controls in DRC and we walk away nga Ente enyampidde mukatale.

UN 'gravely' concerned about mass rape of Congolese women and girls by armed groups

The UN said that the attacks are reportedly being carried out by rival armed groups competing to maintain control over mining areas – especially gold mines.

New Delhi: The United Nations has said that it is 'gravely' concerned about the incidents of widespread sexual violence against Congolese women and girls by armed groups in the Tanganyika province. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) spokesperson Shabia Mantoo during a press briefing at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on Friday (August 13, 2021), informed that the humanitarian partners in the Kongolo and Mbulula health zones have recorded 243 incidents of rape, 48 of which involved minors, in the past 14 days.

"This is an average of 17 reported attacks each day. The actual figures are thought to be even higher as reporting of gender-based violence (GBV) remains taboo in most communities. In addition to the huge physical and psychological trauma from being raped, survivors of sexual violence can face stigma and possible exclusion from their families," she stated.

The UN Refugee Agency's spokesperson said that some women and girls have also been abducted and used as sex slaves by armed group members. 

"Ransoms have been demanded from families in exchange for their freedom," she said.

The UNHCR said that the attacks are reportedly being carried out by rival armed groups competing to maintain control over mining areas – especially gold mines and as retaliation against government-led military operations. 

"UNHCR is calling on the authorities to urgently scale up security in the so-called “triangle of death” – an area bordering several localities between Tanganyika, Maniema, and South Kivu Provinces - to protect civilians, especially women and girls; allow humanitarian access; and for investigations to be launched and the perpetrators to be brought to justice," Mantoo said.
