Truax, Francis E. "Pete" Age 83, of Minnetonka, passed away on January 24, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Francis Truax, Sr., and his sister Linda Blackburn. Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Pete relocated to Colorado after serving four years in the Air Force. It was in the Denver area he met his beloved wife, Dottie. After moving to Minnesota, Pete become a successful manufacturers rep and an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Dedicated to his faith, Pete contributed to the church in many ways from serving as sacristan, to funding book donations, to being an integral part in the building of the current church completed in December of 2000. A member of Golden Valley Country Club, Pete was an avid golfer and traveled to many courses throughout the world with his wife Dottie and good friends. After retiring and selling McMillan, Truax & Associates, he dedicated his time to the formation of priests at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Gulu, Uganda. During his 19 years working with the seminary, he traveled to Uganda and positively impacted many others by facilitating the digging of wells, building the Archbishop Flynn Secondary School, and PACTA - a treatment and rehabilitation center for those suffering from addiction. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dottie; daughter Holly (Dennis) Williams, son Peter Truax, daughter Susan Truax, granddaughter Denise (Chip) Fox, grandson Connor Williams, sister Nancy McMinn, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral Mass 11 AM, with visitation at 10 AM, Friday, February 4th, 2022, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd in Minnetonka. Light lunch to follow in the parish gathering space.
