{UAH} NUP PROBLEMS JUST STARTING
Long Post suitable for people whose IQ is above 144: Don't comment if you are bellow 144:
"Banawomelwa Emboona Vs Ba Musiba Taayi"
Dear Hon. Bobi Wine Robert Kyagulanyi Ssenatamu,
I am sure as day follows night that you are not well given the entire political sequence of events concerning the unfinished struggle and so do I.
To begin with I take recognition of your every contribution towards this pro-longed struggle that has no political giraffe tall enough to see when this struggle will end neither does our struggle have a giant in singular to strangle the monster alone. Personally I am a testimony of how it feels and cracks deep inside all of us especially when we give a deadline to achieve freedom and the opposite becomes true.
Of late I have followed the social media trend that is full of malice and blackmail where everyone is an experienced political commentator even those that have never led goats to a village water pond. I have read some people's opinions and left me speechless yet such people can hardly convince a hungry dog to eat beaf.
I have equally observed the continued growth of different factions in the party you lead as it was with UPC where they had UPC Enkomba [thick UPC] of Adonia Tiberondwa, James Rwanyarare, Rurangaranga, Dr. Chris Rwakasis and others while on the other hand was UPC-JIK [Jinja Iganga Kamuli] of Dr. John Luwuliza-Kirunda Alex Waibale William Nadiope, Mathias Ngobi, Shaban Nkutu, Ali.K Balunywa, Wiliam Nkoko and others.
Hon. Kyagulanyi I can predict without fear, favour or contradiction that NUP has cracking symptoms as it was with UPC, DP, FDC and definitely NRM. As it has always been with most political parties that are formed out of waves and or anger, such parties tend to have people with different agendas and or ambitions. I am not saying that anger is bad because there is justifiable anger. Let me share with you some bit of history about the history of FDC cracks.
First was Parliamentary Advocacy Forum (PAFO), National Democratic Forum (NDF) of Chapa Karuhanga and the Reform Agenda members led by Dr. Kizza Besigye. To some analysts PAFO members viewed Reform Agenda members as radicals yet to them (PAFO) thought that playing non confrontational politics was the way to go. These internal conflicts grew and bred more members until when they couldn't hold the party any more and as you know ANT members left due to differences in approach.
In regards to your party (NUP), no one denies that it was a timely wave of your music supporters majority youth whom we can't ascertain whether or not knew or understood your political philosophy or even basic leadership and governance skills. While on the other hand was usual opportunists ba "mbukira etambula" to mean I jump onto any track so as long as it's moving! Very impatient people and hard to understand when they will leave the one they have jumped onto in the event that it has a mechanical problem though in most cases they are the very people that will compromise such a vehicle's movement due to their selfish motives. On the other hand were genuine people whose efforts are always suffocated by the majority self seekers since such genuine people are always few.
Additionally are the elites whom the foot soldiers term as "ba actually/Musiba taayi" these have also been a problem to the struggle because of their impractical theories and too hard to understand vocabularies in the struggle. I am sure if you shouted weewe…they may ask; is here a written concept paper for this slogan? Has it worked elsewhere? Ok; before we use it let's meet at Serena and have a deep understanding of this slogan etc. Not to say that there are no progressive actuaries/elites!
If I may be particular, NUP just like the rest of the political parties' conflicts rotate around these groups; the elites call them the actuaries who are good at policies, uneducated or semi educated call them banawomelwa emboona good at street action. Whereas all these groups are important in the struggle, there should be streamlined roles for each. I am sure that the same way Grace Ibingira and his clique of elites; majority lawyers under-looked Milton Obote is the same way you are being under-looked by the elites in NUP; and I can predict that one of the NUP cracks will be after the reshuffle of the opposition leadership in parliament and later around 2024-2025 towards, during and after the NUP's delegates conference aimed at changing leadership.
Hon. Kyagulanyi you need to take at most note of Hon. Abed Bwanika's accusations against his fellow party leader Hon. Betty Nambooze. Such conduct between the FDC senior members Hon. Nandala Mafabi and Hon. Nabiira Nagayi pushed Nabiira to NUP. As such I am sure just like Kazibwe Bashir; Abed Bwanika will never step at NUP offices and he is likely to contest as either half or light Yellow (Independent) or even thick Yellow NRM come 2026.
First, Abed talked of negotiating for purpose of having opposition members getting out of jail and he was attacked by many especially by banawomelwa emboona. To be honest no one that had/has their relatives I jail for this long would ever say that leave my people in jail if their release may involve any sort of talks. May be Bwanika believed in a theory of losing a battle so that you are able to plan and win the war later than losing both! If I may ask, did your leadership give Bwanika as a senior leader a room for him to present his strategy? If yes; did you have a different strategy through which all political prisoners will come out? Any how I shouldn't poke my small norse into the NUP strategies.
But what I can learn from Bwanika's anger is that there is a lot that is done by some NUP members and that there seems to be a lot of dishonesty and once such dishonesty comes out to the rest of the public it will be too late for you to tame.
Learning from history you need to equally know that so as long as you are out of parliament, the Parliamentary leadership will hardly respect you. This is because these MPs see their speaker as their bread provider while on the other hand see you as their burden especially when you hold them accountable. I wont be surprised when some NUP untouchables work with NRM soon than later.
Like Baganda say that akyogerako siyakireta, loosely to mean that he who predicts doom isn't necessarily he who who brings it, I can predict that unless otherwise NUP will have different factions ie; NUP enkomba/thick NUP whose allegiance will be attributed to you and this is the NUP of Kampala Metropolitan with majority semi educated and selfseekers, the second NUP will be that of Greater Masaka especially after the reshuffle of the Parliamentary leadership and finally NUP of the Eastern Region and finally there will be those who go back to DP as others will be bought by NRM.
The reason for which NUP is likely to break into these factions is because this Party was made as a result of the most suffering youths of Ghettos who only listen to you, the frustrated DP edited call them the actuaries who couldn't use defeat Mao but also doubt your leadership experience but had nothing to because NUP was the only Party that could bring them victory, then the genuine People Power members who in the first place dint want a political party and found themselves in NUP.
To say, it's common that Non-Violent movements lack discipline unlike armed struggles which have a room for firing squad to its indisciplined members. Evidently you have seen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni jail his Generals and not even a corporal or a fellow General says a word. But try to talk about these ill reasoning bloggers alone you will not only hear but rather see fire.
Like I said in my latest book "Mr. President I am not sorry" under a chapter "Three Uganda's Troublesome Tribes" being Banyankore, Acholi and Baganda. Now you see that all NUP troubles will start from the very Baganda. Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana's imprisonment both Baganda led to Nambooze-Bwanika conflict both Baganda, Nobert Mao an Acholi chest themps self for being key in their release as Museveni a Munyankore remains in the shadow and behind their suffering.
Humble advise; own your space as a leader, set up a very strict and functional disciplinary committee, fear not to lose some people simply because they are leaders so as long as they are off the Party principles.
