WASHINGTON, March 8 - RIA Novosti. The United States has transferred a third of its stocks of Javelin anti-tank systems and Stinger anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine, and it could take up to six years to replenish the reserves of 155-mm artillery shells, writes the American Conservative.

Russia , as the publication says, is not the only one who spends its ammunition on Ukraine.

If all aid to Ukraine ended tomorrow, it would take the US just under six years to produce enough 155mm shells to restore US stockpiles to pre-war levels.

With the planned increase in production to 20 thousand shells per month, the restoration will take, according to the publication, more than four years.

"Therefore, the US wants to more than quadruple production from 20,000 to 90,000 per month by 2025... But even with new production volumes, it will take 11 months to bring stocks of 155mm shells to pre-war levels, assuming that the United States will completely stop transferring them to Ukraine," the publication says.

Shells of "NATO" caliber 155 millimeters are used in the American M777 howitzers received by Ukraine.

According to the publication, the United States sent a third of its Javelin anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine - 8.5 thousand units, despite the fact that their monthly production at the factories of Raytheon and Lockheed Martin is 400 units.

Kyiv also received a third of the US stocks of Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems - 1.6 thousand pieces. "However, production capacity for the Stinger missiles is even worse than for the Javelin, and is supported only by small foreign orders," the publication says.

Against the backdrop of a Russian special operation in Ukraine, the US and its NATO allies support Kiev by sending it weapons. The programs cost tens of billions of dollars. Moscow , for its part, has repeatedly stated that such supplies only prolong the conflict, and vehicles with military equipment become a legitimate target for the Russian army.
