{UAH} Leadership qualities

Presentation by Engineer Winnie Byanyima, Executive Director of UNAIDS at the 98th District Conference in Mbarara

6 important qualities needed for leadership of today:

1.Collaboration-no one is able to solve challenges alone. Build bridges and form partnerships . Work within and outside your entity, create a culture of trust, mutual respect and willing to listen to others.
2. Adaptability-World is changing very fast, technology is changing rapidly. Adapt quickly to new ideas and circumstances. Lack of adaptability will lead to stagnation and failure. Being able to make quick decisions. What holds us back is the power we have and misusing it.
3.Humility- Leaders who are humble recognize that they do not have all the answers.
4.Empathy- Being able to place yourself in other people's shoes. Able to connect with people on a human level. Make people supported.
5.Honesty-Leaders who admit their mistakes when they make them. You don't get trust when you are dishonest.
6. Inclusivity &Equality-Diversity of Teams, different nationalities and gender balance
