It's Time To Clean House: High Ranking Republicans REACT To Release Of John Durham Report

The release of Special Counsel John Durham's report has prompted Republicans to speak out against what they see as the weaponization of government.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is expected to run for President, tweeted that "weaponized federal agencies manufactured a false conspiracy theory about Trump-Russia collusion."

He called for a house cleaning at these agencies, which have never been held accountable for their abuse of power. GOP presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley also issued statements.

Ramaswamy tweeted that the Durham Report is a scathing indictment of the FBI and proposed shutting it down, stating that bureaucracy is a formula for corruption. Haley tweeted that the report is damning evidence of the rot in our government and that no party or politician should weaponize the government to go after political opponents.

Several GOP lawmakers also commented on the issue. Senator Mike Lee of Utah tweeted that the gravity of the misconduct uncovered by Mr. Durham cannot be overstated. He added that it involved a malicious use of federal law-enforcement officers to conduct a contrived investigation utterly lacking any valid, factual foundation from the beginning.

He also wrote that it was an effort to use a powerful, long-respected, federal law-enforcement agency to render a presidential candidate unelectable without any valid, good-faith basis.

Representative Elise Stefanik of New York said in a statement that the long-awaited Durham Report confirmed what the American people already know: that individuals at the highest levels of government attempted to overthrow Democracy when they illegally weaponized the federal government against Donald J. Trump. She declared that Crossfire Hurricane was nothing more than an illegal, unlawful, and unAmerican abuse of power.

The Durham Report has sparked a renewed call for accountability and transparency in government agencies. Republicans are demanding that those responsible for the abuse of power be held accountable and that steps be taken to prevent such abuses from happening in the future. The weaponization of government is a serious issue that threatens the very foundations of Democracy, and it is up to all Americans to ensure that our government remains accountable to the people it serves.
