This State Just Passed Law to Kill US Government’s Unconstitutional Acts
The state of Louisiana passed a law called the “Louisiana Sovereignty Resolution.”
This declares its right to nullify any unconstitutional acts of the federal government, a move said to reflect a regrettable development. Americans and states nationwide are increasingly “feeling suffocated” by the “excesses” of the Biden administration.
Fending Off Radical Left’s Government Capture
The arrival of Joe “Big Guy” Biden at the White House, combined with the Democrat Party’s internal takeover by far-leftists means for more than two years now, this nation has been ruled by a new brand of extremism.
Thus, the desire of sane state leaders to save their residents from the madness of far-left abuses and totalitarianism is all too understandable.
Lawmakers in both chambers of Louisiana’s state legislature have now acted upon their desire to protect their constituents by passing a sovereignty resolution, The Gateway Pundit reports.
The news outlet published an op-end by Christopher Alexander from the Louisiana Citizen Advocacy Group (LACAG). He described the passage of the new legislation as a major step towards defending Americans’ “constitutionally protected liberty.”
Alexander went further by insisting all US states should follow Louisiana’s example in order to be sure they can to defend themselves against unconstitutional federal government excesses.
Back to Foundational Writings
LACAG activists pointed out it was “appropriate to celebrate” the state legislature’s passage of the resolution dubbed SCR 21, which sponsored by state Senator Stewart Cathey.
The new legislation affirms the state’s right to “nullify unconstitutional acts” by the US government.
Alexander emphasized that it rested on the foundational writings of the US Constitution, as well as the Federalist Papers, US Supreme Court precedents, and guarantees received by the 13 states that formed the Constitution.
The op-ed recounts that in 1798, Kentucky nullified the Alien and Seditions Acts and federal laws. Thomas Jefferson agreed the states were “sovereign and independent” and “nullification” of unconstitutional federal acts was their “rightful remedy.”
Alexander concluded by stating SCR 21 is only a torch that should encourage other states nationwide to follow Louisiana’s example to fend off unconstitutional federal acts.
